Are there transfers from the airport?

Courtesy transfers to and from the airport (which is 1.3 kms from the River House) are provided whenever possible.  Please request at the time of booking.

When is office reception open?

The office is generally attended from Monday to Friday in the mornings from 8 am until midday.  The office will also open at other times depending on flight arrivals and estimated times of arrival from guests arriving by road.

What if we arrive after office hours?

There will be a notice on the office door with the phone number of the Duty Manager.

Where can we buy fuel?

Fuel bowsers are just outside the supermarket.

Do you provide meals?

No meals are provided.  Milk is in the fridge and sachets of tea and coffee are in your room.

Where can we buy food?

The Anglican Convenience store is right beside the River House and they are open every day except Monday and Tuesday.

The Kowanyama supermarket is 200 metres away and sells grocery items, meat, bread, milk and a range of fresh fruit and vegetables and is open six days a week.  The supermarket hours are 8.30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 12 noon.  The Store is closed from 12.30 to 1.30 pm Monday to Friday for lunch.

The Bakery is 750 metres away on the corner of Chapman Rd and Uwelkoril St.

Are there cooking facilities?

In each room there is a very well equipped kitchenette with microwave, hot plates, rice cooker, electric frypan, toaster and all necessary cutlery, crockery and glassware.

There is also an outdoor BBQ area available to guests.

Security

Security screens are fitted to all rooms.

Is EFTPOS available?

EFTPOS cash withdrawals can made from:

  • the Anglican Convenience Store right next door to the River House
  • Kowanyama Supermarket
  • Post Office

Internet Reception

Telstra is the only telecommunications provider.  Landline broadband is not available in Kowanyama however there is a reliable 4 to 5 band mobile broadband signal at our location.

Are the rooms serviced?

Apart from replacement of consumables, rooms are not serviced throughout a guest’s stay except for stays in excess of 7 days when cleaning will be arranged in accordance with the needs of the guest.
